Fayette County Union, Thursday, 23 September 1880.

DIED- At West Union, Sept. 17th, 1880, Mr. Austin Cooley, aged 62 years and 6 months.

Mr. Cooley was born at Conway, Mass., March ? (single digit), 1818. He has resided in Massachusetts, Virginia, Ohio and Iowa; having passed the last 25 years in and near West Union. He leaves a wife and one daughter to mourn his departure, his other three children having gone into the other life before him. A man of untiring energy, great industry, and confident assurance in the Lord's anointed, having exhausted the energies of this life, he committed his spirit into the hands of his master and resigned this fleeting breath. The funeral service was conducted by the Rev. J. A. Kerr, in the presence of many friends and relatives whose tears of sympathy mingled with those of the bereaved family.
