Postville Herald, Friday, 29 November 1918.

Paul J. Hodges, an eleven year old living at Oelwein, disappeared April 23. His body was found Sunday in a sand pit near that city by some boys playing in the vicinity. The body was much decomposed and was identified by the clothing. It is supposed the lad entered a temporary cave under the sand, which fell upon him, pinning him down and smothering him. There the body remained for seven months causing much anxiety to the relatives and they have had many false clues. The finding of the body clears up the mystery for them.
