Sunday rites for Arlington man

ARLINGTON – A retired Arlington farmer died Thursday evening at Mercy Hospital in Oelwein. Funeral services for Herman A. Cornilsen, 74, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Gleim Funeral Home in Arlington with burial later at Union cemetery, Aurora.

Visitation is any time at the Gleim Funeral Home.

Cornilsen is survived by one sister, Mrs. Katherine Lower, Arlington; one brother, Henry Cornilsen, DeWitt; and nieces and nephews.

In 1974 Cornilsen moved to Guttenberg to live with his nephew, Paul Cornilsen. A few years later he moved to Oelwein to live with his niece, Mrs. Joe (Anna Mae) Michels, until he was admitted to the Grandview Nursing Center in Oelwein.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and one sister.
