Memorial services were held at 11 a.m. August 25, 2012 at Wadena Legion in Wadena, Iowa for Mary Eileene Knight, 72, of Wadena, Iowa, who died on Wednesday, August 22, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Mary Eileene Knight was born July 15, 1940, in Jacksonville, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Hazel (Meyer) DeMoulin. She was raised and educated in Illinois attending Elgin High School.

On August 27, 1956, Mary was united in marriage to Wayne Knight in Huntley, Illinois. Together they resided in Illinois until 1968 when they moved to Iowa. In 1994 they moved to Missouri.

Wayne died in 2004 and Mary moved to Wadena. She was a homemaker but also rode with her husband driving truck.

Mary enjoyed fishing, reading, gambling, camping, cribbage, gardening, and quilting.

Survivors include her 6 children, Marty Lahey of Bolivar, Missouri, Wayne (Julie) Knight, Jr of Manchester, Charleen Brehme (fiance David Smock) of Jesup, Jackie (friend Joe Patch) Bemrose of Elk Creek, Missouri, Sydney Kay Knight (significant other Bobbie Bachman) of Lamont, and Christine (Chuck) Hutchinson of Manchester; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one brother, Norman (Herta) DeMoulin of Tennessee.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; twins in early childhood; and two brothers, Glen and Paul.
