Magna Othilie Swenson

Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 1, for Mrs. Othilie Swenson at the East Clermont Lutheran Church, the Rev. John D. Kronlokken conducting the service. Her interment was in the church cemetery at East Clermont Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Magna Othilie Swenson, age 82 died Thursday, March 30, at a nursing home in West Concord, Minnesota, where she had resided for one and a half years. The former Othilie Nelson was born August 19, 1878 in Clermont, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at East Clermont Lutheran Church.

On January 6, 1903, she married John Swenson and the family lived in the Clermont area until 1918 when they moved to Minnesota. Mrs. Swenson has continued to live at Rochester, Minnesota, since the death of her husband.

Surviving, of her family, are 2 sons: Harley of Downey, California and Vernon of Pine Island, Minnesota. There are 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband were 2 daughters and 3 sons.

Also, of brothers and sisters, who remain are: William Nelson and Mrs. Edwin Gunderson of Clermont, Mrs. Dan Kloster of West Union, Mrs. Almer Aanes of Red Wing, Minnesota. Preceding her in death were sisters: Constance, Viola, and Louise (Mrs. Jorgen Skow).

Those from a distance attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Swenson, Eddie, Steven and George, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Andrist, Jr., all of Pine Island, Minnesota; Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Swenson and Miss Myrtle Skarshoug of Rochester, Minnesota; J. C. Skow, J. A. Skow and Mr. and Mrs. Karl El Kiilsholm of Wesley; Mr. and Mrs. Bud Aanes, Nancy and Ann of Hibbing, Minnesota; Verla Gunderson and Carol Gunderson of Cedar Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Milton Nelson of McGregor; and Mr. and Mrs. Dan Kloster of West Union.
