Sarah Tilda "Tillie" Swenson

Funeral rites were conducted Friday, July 23 at 9:30 a.m. at West Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont, for Mrs. "Tillie" Swenson, who died July 20 at the Good Samaritan Center, Waukon. She had been a Postville resident. The Rev. Clarence Johnson, officiated. Schutte's of Postville was in charge.

Born October 21, 1887, Sarah Tilda was the daughter of Arnie and Annie (Gunderson) Gunderson. She was baptized and confirmed in the East Clermont Lutheran Church.

On October 24, 1912, she was united in marriage with Gilbert Swenson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1924, one brother, Edwin, and a sister Alma Ostlie.

Survivors include her two children, a son Alois of Warner Robins, Georgia, and a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Anna) Hamilton of Spirit Lake. There are also six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Burial was in God's Acre cemetery.
