Helen Edith Skelton, 83, died Sunday, August 5, 2002 at the Fountain Valley Hospital in Fountain Valley, California.

She was a long time resident of Elgin and Clermont and lived the last 18 years in Alice, Texas.

Helen was born in Oelwein to Peter and Gertrude Kraft on October 6, 1918.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Clark; a son, Richard; her parents, and a sister, Lois Borland.

Survivors include her husband Robert, four daughters, Rosely (Ivan) Krueger of Monona; Lois Elworth of Fountain Valley, Calif.; Diane Clark of LaCrosse, Wisc.; Jeanine (John) Reed of Woolstock, and a step-daughter, Mary Beth Skelton of Bronx, N. Y.; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; a great, great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation; her body was cremated. Graveside services pending at Union Cemetery in Aurora.
