Dale Robert Seitz, son of Rufus and Sybil (Cowell) Seitz, was born October 5, 1935, on a farm near Luana, Iowa. He passed away Sunday afternoon, January 5, 2003, at his home near Clermont, Iowa. He had reached the age of 67 years and 3 months.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Volney Methodist Church. Dale attended the Smithfield Country School and graduated from the Monona High School in 1953. He worked on several farms during and after high school. Dale served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956, after which he was employed by John Deere at Waterloo.
On April 20, 1957 Dale was married to Donna Molokken in the First Lutheran Church near Ossian, Iowa. Four children were born to this union. He worked on the Nick Ehr family farm near Jesup, Iowa until 1959, when they moved to the Clermont and Elgin area.

A brother, Earl, also helped them on occasion, along with Dale and Donna's children who helped as they became old enough.
The year 2002 has been a year of family gatherings, including camping, boating, fishing, and most importantly, Dale worked in his yard, which was his pride and joy. He spent time in his workshop as well and in the woods, hunting mushrooms.
