Edith Margaret Reid was born near Hazleton, Buchanan County, Iowa, on May 15, 1875 and died at the home of her parents in Oelwein, February 27th, 1915, hence she would have been 40 years of age had she lived til the 15th of May next.

She was married to Henry J. Bonser on January 19, 1905. Mr. Bonser died on December 13th, 1914. Since her husband's death she has made her home with her father and mother who reside on Third Avenue East. In her death she leaves five brothers and two sisters to mourn her loss. The brothers are Jesse W., James F., Levi L. , William H. Jr., and Ross R.. The sisters are: Mrs. Carl Smith and Mrs. Ed Kluge. All were present at the funeral.

Funeral services were held from the Christian Church at 2 p.m. Monday, March 1st, where a a large number of friends and sympathizers assembled to tribute to the dead and offer comfort to the bereaved. At the close of the services by the pastor, the remains were conveyed to to West Side Cemetery (now Woodlawn) and laid to rest. The sympathy of all is extended to the sorrowing hearts in this sad hour.
