Funeral services were held Sunday, September 28, at 2 p.m. at the East Clermont Lutheran Church, Clermont, for Mrs. William [Minerva] Bacon, who died September 25 at her home in Clermont. The Rev. Clarence Johnson officiated. Schutte's was in charge of arrangements.

Born January 1, 1928 on a farm in Clermont township, Fayette county, she was the daughter of Alphie and Myrtle (Lien) Thorson.

She attended school at Clermont and graduated from Luther College, Decorah. She taught in the Luana, Waukon and Waterloo schools.

She was married to William Bacon on January 15, 1955. They moved to a farm near Clermont in February, 1956.

Preceding her in death were her parents and a nephew. Survivors include her husband; 2 brothers, Eugene and Charles Thorson, both of Clermont and a sister, Mrs. Eugene (Velma) Moorhead of Phoenix, Arizona.

Interment was in the East Clermont Cemetery.
