FORMER RESIDENT DIES AT MISSOURI HOME

Fred Frieden, son of Jacob and Marie Frieden, was born at Bern, Switzerland, May 30, 1872, and died in his home two miles south of LaGrange, Missouri, on May 12, 1933, at the age of sixty years, eleven months and nineteen days. He came to America at the age of 17 years where he worked for relatives several years, until his parents came to America. Then he purchased a farm on which he lived until 1927, when he moved from Elgin to La Grange, Mo., where he died.

He was married to Rose Grimm on Apr 29, 1903. He leaves his widow and thirteen children, all living except Marie, who died at the age of 8 years. The living are John, of Muscatine, Mrs. Theo Hanson, of La Grange, Mo., Mrs. John Hoerr, of Taylor, Mo., Albert, of La Grange, Mo., and Betty, Freddie, Ben, Dannie, Leslie, Robert, Herman and Dorothy at home. He also leaves two brothers, on sister and two grandchildren.

Mr. Frieden was a member of the Apostolic Christian church for over 30 years, a faithful follower of the Lowly Savior, a man of quiet disposition, loved and honored by all who knew him and he will be missed not only by his family but by many friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon at 3o’clock at the Apostolic church near Taylor, Mo., of which he was a member. He was laid to rest in the Apostolic cemetery near the Little White Church on the Hill near Taylor, Missouri. Rev. Noah Schrock of Oakville, Iowa, officiated.

Iowa relatives and friends who attended the funeral of Mr. Frieden were: John and Lawrence Grimm, Mrs. Anna Schupbach and Herman,, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schupbach, Mrs. Sam Lehman, Mrs. Sam Lehman, Mrs. Jake Buttkofer, John, Albert and Mrs. Eliza Friederich, Ern Baumgartner, Mrs. Guernsey Smith and Noel, Georgie Meyer, Mrs. John Durscher, Mr. and Mrs. Gottfred Frieden, Jacob, Lillian and George Frieden and Harold Kimball all of Elgin, Mrs. Alden Mackey of Fayette, Christ and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gerst, Sr., Clarence Yackley, Mr. and Mrs. John Heimeiger, Rev. Noah Schrock; Mrs. Will Frank and Sophia Stoller of Oakville.
