03 Mar 1892A. Brassie, whose serious illness we noted last week, died a this home near the Kansas City tracks on Frederick Street Tuesday night. He suffered a great deal during his illness. A postmortem examination was held Wednesday morning, being conducted by Drs. Baker, Pattison, Cozens, Cole and Hodge. The examination disclosed the fact that most of the inner organs were diseased, the stomach and liver malignantly so. The liver was enlarged to about three times its normal condition and weighed 15 1/4 pounds.
It was hard to determine whether the disease was of a cancerous nature or tuberculosis, so a 'portion of the part were sent to Dr. Gilchrist, of the State University for examination. The case was one of interest to the medical fraternity. The funeral will take place from the Catholic church today services being conducted by Rev. Father O'Connor.
