Cause of death – blunt force trauma to the back of the head (hit by a very large tree limb).

Survivors include his siblings; Colonel (ret) Bradley G. Anderson (Ethiopia), Amy Simmons (New Sharon, IA), and Becky Berg (Sigourney, IA).

Bruce was proceeded in his death by his father Burdette L. Anderson and mother Arla Jean (Shaffer) Anderson/Hubbard.
