Hildor Olaf Bilden

Hildor Olaf Bilden, son of Hans and Helga (Hanson) Bilden, was born December 15, 1911 on a farm northeast of Elgin, Iowa. He died Tuesday, October 11, 1994. He was 83 years old.

He attended country school in Marion Township, and later farmed on the home place.

He was united in marriage to Adolphia Nesvik in Clermont, Iowa; they later divorced.

In 1986, failing health forced him to move into the senior citizens apartments in Elgin. In 1990 he entered the Aase Haugen Nursing Home in Decorah, Iowa, where he died.

Preceding him in death were his parents; 2 sisters, Josephine Loftsgard and one in infancy; and a nephew, Cpl. Harlan Bilden. Survivors include his brother Tilpher of Elgin; 8 nieces and nephews; 7 great-nieces and nephews; and a special friend Doris Thurn of Elgin.

Funeral services were held Friday, October 14, 1994 at East Clermont Lutheran Church, rural Clermont, Iowa. Rev. Harry Peterson officiated. Organist was Lois Dummermuth and soloist was Clarence Amundson. Casket bearers were Ronald Soppe, David Cooley, Gerald Blockhus, Harold Hanson, Charles Kohls and Joseph Reierson. Arrangements were made by Muehlethaler Funeral Home, Elgin. Interment was in the East Clermont Lutheran Cemetery, rural Clermont, Iowa.
