Obituary.
Jonathan Knight was born in Miami county, Ohio, April 3d, 1809, and died in this village May 5th, 1872, in the 64th year of his age. In 1825 he, with his parents emigrated to Indiana, and settled in Carroll county, where he resided about thirty years. July 15th, 1849, he was united in marriage to Adaline B. Merine [also spelled Marine] with whom he lived for many years and who died April 20th, 1861. He was united in marriage to his now bereaved companion, October 30th, 1864. Mr. Knight settled in this town in 1855, since which time he has been known among us as an honorable, upright man in all his business transactions. He was a member of no religious society at the time of his death, but he was a firm believer of the fundamental doctrines of christianity.
