Mrs. Simon NEFZGER

"Died at her home in Albany at 11:25 Wednesday night, Nov. 28th, 1900, after a long sickness, at the age of 78 years and 5 months. Christina Catherine KUNZI was born in Wittenberg, Germany, June 20, 1822. When 14 years old she came to this country with her parents and settled in Ohio. At the age of 23 she was married to Simon NEFZGER, at Chatfield, Ohio, in Dec. 1845. They moved to Iowa in the fall of "59 and have lived here together until her death. This union was blessed with six children, four boys and two girls, four of whom with her bereaved husband are left to mourn her death, Christian, August, Henry, and Mary (now Mrs. EARLE). In early life she became interested in religion, uniting with the Lutheran denomination, and was always interested in the work. The funeral was held in the Albany school house Nov. 30, services conducted by Rev. St. John, of Fayette, after which her remains were laid at rest in the burying ground at Lima."
