Robert Alton Cook

Robert Alton Cook, son of Robert P. and Ramona (Fram) Cook, was born June 27, 1948, in West Union, Iowa. He was raised and educated in this area, graduating from Valley High School in 1966.

After high school, he worked for a few months until entering the U.S. Navy in January of 1967. He was honorably discharged in November of 1970. During his time in service, he was with the U.S.S. Ranger Aircraft Carrier, and spent many months in combat with the Vietnam conflict.

Robert has spent a number of years working in Rochester, Minnesota. Most recently, he was employed at Marigold Foods there.

Robert has long-suffered with illness for much of the past seven years. For the last six months, he has been residing with his parents in Clermont, Iowa. His death occurred there on Friday, May 29, 1987. He will be remembered for his love of the outdoors.

Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Roger, who lives in Sumner, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Samuel (Ricky Marie) Peterson of Atlantic City, Wyoming; and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Elsie Fram of West Union, Iowa.

The pallbearers were Norman Gilbert, Delmer Kingery, Vernon Anderson, Garry Kuhens, Orville Berg, Alton Miller.
