Funeral services for Debra "Deb" Marie Marlow, age 48, of Oelwein, Iowa will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 24, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oelwein with Father Harry Koelker officiating. Burial will be at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Fairbank, Iowa.

Debra "Deb" Marie, daughter of Kenneth and Dorothy (Pint) Richards, was born September 15, 1961 in Sumner, Iowa. She grew up in the Fairbank area and graduated from Wapsie Valley High School in 1979. Deb continued her education by going to Young's Cosmetology College in Waterloo, Iowa. After graduating she worked for the Hair Port in Fairbank and later for Family Hair Affair. Her last job was with the Oelwein High School. On September 11, 1982 she was united in marriage to Jerry "Jay" Marlow at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fairbank, Iowa.

Deb enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts and being active in her church, but her greatest enjoyment came from her family. She never missed one of the children's school events and was always there to help fix the girls' hair. She also was there to help anyone who was in need of help. Deb was a person who loved her family and helping others. Her passing will leave a void in many lives and she will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.

Debra Marie Marlow died July 21, 2010. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Richards, a brother Jim Richards, a brother-in-law Rick Melhus, and parents-in-law Lester and Effie Marlow.

Debra is survived by her husband, Jerry, her children, Kim Marlow of West Des Moines, Iowa, Brad Marlow of Waterloo, Iowa, and Krista Marlow of Cedar Falls, Iowa; three sisters, Mary (Ron) Seeley of Roscoe, Illinois, Pam (Sammy) Balakrishnan of Elgin, Illinois, and Julie (Dave) Happel of Fairbank, Iowa; three brothers, Robert (Nancy) Richards, Ron (Kelly) Richards, and Dennis (Jenny) Richards, all of Fairbank, Iowa; her mother, Dorothy Richards of Fairbank, Iowa; two sisters-in-law, Jean Richards of Fairbank and Barb Melhus of Knoxville, Tennessee; four brothers-in-law, Cliff (Connie) Marlow and Ron (Becky) Marlow, all of Pella, Iowa, Gary (Jill) Marlow of Vinton, Iowa, and Steve (Amy) Marlow of Independence, Iowa.
