age 85 . . . Interment at Lutheran cemetery in Westgate [Fayette County, Fremont Township]
She was born Arlensdorf, Korfuurst Hessen, Germany March 2, 1847. She came to this country with her parents when she was 14 months of age., and they located in Cook County until she was about 15 years of age. Her parents died when she was seven years old. Upon leaving Cook County she came to Maxfield township in this county where she lived with her sister, Mrs. William Matthias. The latter is now 95 years of age and was with her sister when death occurred.

She is survived by eight children, three sons and five daughters; John and Herman Wente of Waterloo, Ed of this place, Mrs. H. J. Koelling of Westgate, Mrs. W.C. Matthias of Orange,Calif., Mrs. H. C. Treptow of Westgate and Mrs. G. C. Schwake of this place. Four other children preceded her in death; two sons in infancy and Mrs. Will Seegers and Mrs. John Schumacher in later years. She is also survived by 46 grandchildren, 75 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. Since the death of her husband 29 years ago she has made her home with her children.
