William J. Rundle, a resident of
'Sumner practically all his life, died at
his home here Tuesday afternoon
after being in poor health for
about a year. Death was due to heart
trouble.
Funeral services will be held from
the late home Friday afternoon at 1
o'clock with Rev. D. I. Hammond of
Waterloo in charge. Interment will be
made in the Wilson Grove cemetery.
Friends planning to attend the funeral
are asked to note the change in the
hour of service from that announced
yesterday forenoon.
William John Rundle, son of Richard and
Celena Rundle, was born December 6, 1862,
at Dodgeville, Wisconsin. He remained
there until seven years of age when he came
with his parents to Sumner where he has
since made his home with the exception of a
few years at Oran.
He was married March 17, 1889 to Miss Hanna
Warden. Four children were born to this union,
all of whom with the wife and mother, survive.
They are Harold Rundle of Sumner, Mrs. Hazel
Bell of Waterloo, Laurel Rundle of Woodward and
Mrs. Harold Davelaar of Tacoma, Washington. He
is also survived by one brother, Wallace Rundle of
Oelwein and three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Simpson of
Jennings, Kansas, Ella Rundle and J. L. Butler of
Oelwein; also 10 grandchildren. His father mother,
one sister and one brother preceded
