LESLIE LADD was born at Tripoli,
Iowa August 20,1909. Moving to Oelwein
when he was about 2 years old. He was
raised by his Grandmother, Eliza Ladd
Obenchain, He attended South-Side and
Oelwein High School. He was a switchman
for the C.G.W. Railroad over 20
years and operated a Sanitation Service
for many years in surrounding communities.
He was united in marriage to
Mae Slater, July 14, 1941. His grandmother
preceded him in death. He
leaves his wife Mae, many nieces and
nephews. He died November 25 and
funeral services were held on November
28 at Brant Funeral Home with burial in
Woodlawn. Casket Bearers were:
Francis Rogge, Lyle Haught, Harold
Rees, Delbert Woodward, Charles
Anderson, George Garner, Gary
Donaldson and Merlin Doland.
