"Bud" Becker of rural Clermont, Iowa were held Thursday, April 12 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Clermont Lutheran Church at Clermont, Iowa. The Rev. Donald Loots officiated. The Schutte Funeral Service of Clermont was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in the God's Acre Cemetery at Clermont, Iowa. Casket bearers were John Kamp, Gary Becker, Chuck Nelson, David Larson, Jr., Donnie Kamp, David Becker, Dan Becker, Jim Nelson, Mike Kamp, and Kerrin Meyer.
Charles L. "Bud" Becker, son of Louis and Stella Irene (Peters) Becker, was born December 22, 1931 in Pleasant Valley Township, Fayette County, Iowa near Elgin, Iowa. He was baptized March 23, 1947 in the Methodist Church at Elgin, Iowa and confirmed into the Lutheran faith in 1956. He was a graduate of Elgin High School. He married Ilo Mae Meyer. Bud was a farmer and a member of the West Clermont Lutheran church. He served on the church council. He was also an active member in the Clermont Community Club.
Charles died Tuesday morning, April 10, 1990 in the Community Memorial Hospital in Postville, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father Louis Becker, Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Ilo Mae; a son Terry Becker of Clermont, Iowa; 3 daughters, Julie Grant of Decorah, Iowa; Becky Pedersen of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Donna "Sam" Becker of Clermont, Iowa; his mother, Stella Becker of Elgin, Iowa; a brother, Louis "Stub" Becker, Jr.; 3 sisters, Alice Schroeder of LaPorte City, Iowa, Mary Lou Downey of Grundy Center, Iowa, and Judy Larson of Ossian, Iowa.
