Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services for Fay Everett Wickham of Postville, Iowa, were held Saturday, August 4 at the United Methodist Church in Castalia, Iowa. Pastor Verdon Swenson conducted the 1:30 p.m. services. Burial was in God's Acres Cemetery in Clermont, Iowa with Schutte Funeral Service of Postville in charge of arrangements. Casket bearers were Kelly Sebastian, John Sebastian, Michael Foels, Steven Foels, Frank Wickham, Jr., Brian Snitker, and Jay Lansing.
Fay Everett Wickham, son of Frank and Jennie (Nims) Wickham, was born May 10, 1912 near Hawkeye, Iowa in Fayette County. He was first married to Lucille Jones. On June 6, 1963 he married Marion Kirkestue at Elgin, Iowa. He was an active member of the Castalia United Methodist Church. He operated a small business in Castalia for several years. He had been employed by Darling Rendering Service at Alpha, Iowa and Falb Motor Company in Postville, Iowa. Before retiring in 1977, he had been employed by Rock Island Railroad.
Fay died Wednesday, August 1, 1990 at the Good Samaritan Center in Postville, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, Clarence Wickham, Clifford Wickham, Earl Wickham, and William "Bill" Wickham; and a sister, Edna Mae Wickham.
He is survived by his wife Marion; a son Frank Wickham of New Hampton, Iowa; a daughter, Sharon (Grant) Snitker of Waukon, Iowa; 3 step-daughters, Caroline (Fred) Lansing of Des Moines, Iowa, Linda (Milo) Sebastian, and Betty (Calvin) Foels, both of Postville, Iowa; 13 grandchildren and 2 sisters, Florence Leibold of Waterloo, Iowa, and Ruby (Eben) Pierce of Fredericksburg, Iowa.
