Mrs. Mary Fuller was born at El Paso, Illinois, April 23,
1861, to Mary Long Ridler and Thomas Ridler and
departed this life May 1, 1944 at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Harry Phillips of Mason City, Iowa at the
age of 83 years and 7 days.
She grew to womanhood and received her education
at El Paso, Illinois. Later she came with her parents,
brothers and sister to Oelwein, Iowa, living on a farm
southwest of town which her father then owned.
On August 4, 1885, she was united in marriage to
Lucius K. Fuller and to this union were born ten children.
Two, Clark who died at seven years and Lutie, preceded
their mother in death. The remaining children are Mrs.
H. Wetlaufer of this city, Mrs. Grace Anderson, Mrs.
Russel Armstrong and Mrs. Monford Rice of Normal, Ill.
and Burton Fuller of Chevy Chase, Md., Mrs. H. K.
Fuller of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mrs. Will Newton of Goodland,
Kansas and Mrs. Hany Phillips of Mason City, Iowa, who
mourn the loss of a loving and devoted mother.
The only surviving member of her own family is Chas.
Ridler of this city. The other brothers, Will and John Ridler,
her parents and one sister, Mrs. Emma Hanson, preceded
her to the great beyond.
Mrs. Fuller united with the Baptist church at El Paso,
Ill. at an early age and lived a consistent Christian life.
The funeral was held at the Stubblefield Funeral Home,
Normal, Ill. Thursday, May 4 and interment was made
at the family lot in Evergreen cemetery, El Paso.Oelwein Daily Register - 9 May 1944
