William Ira Myers 1867-1946

- William Ira Myers was born near Oelwein, Iowa,
December 19, 1867. He was the youngest child of
William Myers and Mary Ann Hulme. He grew to
manhood in the home of his birth and attended
Crab Apple School . He later attended Upper Iowa
University for a short time. He was united in
marriage to Miss Jessie Maria Murray of Westgate, Iowa
January 1, 1889. To this union five children were
born. His wife and four children preceded him in
death.
- September 30, 1908 he was united in marriage to
Miss Jessie M. McQueen. He had been a resident of
the city of Oelwein for the past forty-one years. He
was employed by the Chicago Great Western for a few
years, but since 1912 he had worked as carpenter until
about 1926.
- He is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs.
Goldie Michael and several nieces and nephews.
- Funeral services were held from the Brant Funeral
Home. Interment was in Woodlawn cemetery.
