Contributor: Connie Ellis (Not related)Funeral services for Harry Andrew Stolle, age 95, were held Tuesday, December 26 at 10 a.m. at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, Iowa. Officiating were Rev. Richard Trapp and Rev. Kristen Kvamme. Pallbearers were Dan Biermann, Dan Dickens, Terry Wright, Rodney Graf, Jim Rendack, and Kurt Sieber. Interment was in the West Union, Iowa Cemetery. Arrangements were by Burnham-Wood Funeral Home in West Union, Iowa.
Harry Andrew Stolle, son of John and Helen(Thorson) Stolle, was born April 26, 1894 at Clermont, Iowa. He was baptized on May 12, 1894 at Stavanger Lutheran Church, Ossian, Iowa. He received his education at the Clermont High School and Decorah, Iowa Business College. On September 6, 1917 Harry was united in marriage to Genevieve Gunderson at Clermont, Iowa. To this union were born four children. Harry farmed in the West Union area and had been a member of the 1st Federal Land Bank Board, Fayette County Farm Service Board, West Union Coop and the West Union Creamery. Harry was a World War I veteran having served his country from September 18, 1917 until April of 1919.
Harry died on Thursday, December 21, 1989 at the Aase Haugen Home in Decorah, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Alfred Stolle.
Harry is survived by his wife, Genevieve; 3 daughters, Helen (Rev. Richard) Trapp of Billings, Montana, Betty (Laverne) Rose of Decorah, Iowa, and Marilyn (Michael) Miller of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and 1 son, Harry (Myra) Stolle of West Union, Iowa; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Stella Mork of West Union, Iowa and Helen Voss of Polson, Montana; and 1 brother, Richard Stolle of Shalimar, Florida.
