DIED.—Saturday morning at 3
a. m,. December 3rd, 1887. Daniel
Carlin, aged 63 years.
Mr. Carlin had been suffering
about six weeks from an affection of
his lungs caused by over exertion
in helping to remove goods from
the stores here on the night of the
big fire. He at one time appeared
to be much better and had hopes of
recovering. But he again grew
worse, until death terminated his
sufferings. He came to Oelwein
only last spring and was not ex-
extentively known. But those who
knew him, esteemed him highly as
a gentleman and respectable citizen.
The funeral services were held at
the Baptist church Sunday at.2 p. m.
Rev. Paul spoke words of consolation
to the bereaved ones, and word
of admonition to the great company
assembled to pay their last respects
to the departed brother. The remains
were interred in the cemetery.Oelwein Register - 9 Dec 1887
