DIED
BOYCE- In Fayette, August 19, 1879, after an illness of six days, of cholera infantum, Hattie, youngest daughter of Sam and Mary Boyce, aged 2 years and 4 months. Little Hattie bore her sickness with fortitude and intelligence far beyond her years; the parents flattering themselves that she was better the day previous to her death. But alas! her little spirit wafted to a higher and better world.

The littlest star that blazes,
When mingling loves are given,
Expands the souls of babes,
And weaves a link to heaven.

Wrapped in her own death mantle,
Doth our little Hattie lie,
Her cherished little prattle,
From our hearts will never die.

This is from a newspaper clipping-the name of the paper is unknown, but is most likely the local Fayette paper at that time.
