Death Takes
W. A. Gardner
William A. Gardner, 67 years
old today, passed away at, his
residence, 401 6th Street NE.,
Tuesday evening at 8:00 after an
illness of several months. Besides
his wife, Mr. Gardner is survived
by five children: Mrs. Sidney
Everette, Waterloo; Mrs. Paul
Mitchell also of Waterloo; Mrs.
Kermit Freeman, Richmond,
Calif.; Kenneth of Cedar Rapids
and Bill of Oelwein.
He is also survived by 7 brothers
and two sisters, Tom and Clayton
of Fayette; Joe of Stillwater,
Minn.; Ben of St. Lucas, Iowa;
George of Des Moines, Lester of
Cheyenne, Wyo.; and "Jim” of
Puyallup, Wash.; Mrs. Pearl
Hathaway of Independence, Mo.,
and Bess Luther at Oelwein.
Mr. Gardner retired from the
employ of the Chicago Great
Western Ry. a few years ago.
Since that time he was employed
by the City of Oelwein for a
short time.
Funeral arrangements are in
charge of the Brant Funeral
Home and will be announced
later.
