Mary Theresa Bollman

Mary Theresa Bollman, 81, Elgin, Iowa, died Friday, March 04, 2011, at Gundersen Lutheran Hospital, La Crosse, WI, following a brief illness. Mary was born on December 6, 1929, in Martinsburg, MO, to John and Gertrude (Scheulen) Oligschlaeger. She attended St. Joseph Parochial School in Martinsburg, MO, and later received her CNA.

Mary was united in marriage to Richard Vives Bollman on June 16, 1951, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Martinsburg, MO. They were the proud parents of six children. Mary and Richard made their home on a farm near Elgin, Iowa, where they raised their family. Mary was a Certified Nursing Aid in West Union, Iowa, as well as Home Health Care. She was a faithful member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Clermont, Iowa, where she was involved in the Rosary Society and was an honorary member of the St. Theresa Circle. She was sacristan for St. Peter Catholic Church. She cared for the alter linens and sewed alter cloths and vestments. She provided green plants and flowers for the church for all seasons of the year. Mary enjoyed gardening and sewing. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Marcia) Bollman, Highland, WI, Robert Bollman, Elgin, Paul "Kenny" Bollman, Waterloo, Vivian (Ted) Thompson, Volga, JoAnn (Jeff) Gillispie, Bartlesville, OK; eight grandchildren, John Bollman, Theresa Thompson, Christina Thompson, Janelle Gillispie, Sada Thompson, Julia Gillispie, Jonathan Gillispie, Jennifer Gillispie; one great-grandchild, Jessica Bollman; her siblings, Rita Russo, St. Louis, MO, Ben Oligschlaeger, Laddonia, MO, Bud (Roselie) Oligschlaeger, Wellsville, MO, Carl (Jeane) Oligschlaeger, Wellsville, MO; three sisters-in-law, Ann Oligschlaeger, Mexico, MO, Amelia Oligschlaeger, Phoenix, AZ, Ruth Oligschlaeger, Wellsville, MO, and a host of other family and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, John Vives Bollman; her siblings, Fritz Oligschlaeger, John Oligschlaeger, Amby Oligschlaeger, Barb Oligschlaeger and two siblings in infancy; one brother-in-law, Tony Russo and one sister-in-law, Myrna Oligschlaeger.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011, at 10:00 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, Clermont, Iowa. The Rev. Dale Rausch will be the celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Clermont, Iowa.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2011, from 4-7 p.m. at the Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Clermont, Iowa, with a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be held one hour before mass time at the church on Monday.

Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Clermont, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.
