OBITUARY—Sarah Ann Williams
was born in Cook county, Illinois, on
November 11, 1850, and died at Iowa
City, February 1, 1917 aged 67 years,
2 months and 22 days. She was married
to John Lamphier in 1868 and
lived in Illinois until 1886 when they
came to Iowa and settled at Troy
Mills and later came to Maynard,
where she made her home until her
death. To this union were born 5 children:
Will, of Lima; George, of Minot,
S. D.; Lottie Dorland, of Cedar Rapds
and Myrtle and Hetty who preceded
her in death.
She was married to M. A: Barnes In
August, 1895. Mrs. Barnes was of a
kind and gentle nature, always ready
to speak a kind word for those around
er. She was a quiet, peaceful neighbor
and a true home-maker, a home where
hospitality reigned. The door was always
open to her friends. She

grandson in the home, three brothers;
Alfred Williams of Douglas; Scott and
