Mrs. James Holroyd died at her home
in the south part of the city Friday,
May 9th, at about five o'clock a.m. For
some time she had been suffering from
a painful illness. The funeral services
were held at the Baptist church Saturday
afternoon at two o'clock and interment
took place at the Oelwein cemetery.
She was born in Onandaga Co.,N.Y.,
July 25, 1825. She was married
three times, her first husband being
Samuel Styles, by whom she had two
sons, one of whom still lives. Her
second husband was Enos Bentley. On
July 29, 1878, she became the wife of
James Holroyd. She was a consistent
Christian, a member of the Baptist
church of Oelwein. She leaves numerous
relatives and many, warm friends
to mourn her departure from this earth.
