Mrs. John Chase, who had been a
great sufferer for many months died
at the family home in the east part
of the city Wednesday morning, aged
47 years, ten months and 17 days.
Deceased was born in McHenry county
Illinois, January 4, 1850. She
moved to Fayette county, Iowa,
with her parents, in 1858, and
had been a resident of the county
from that time until her death. April
22,1877 she was united in marriage
to John Chase. Three children were
born to them Jesse S., Willis E., and
Frances D. Chase. The funeral
services were held in the M. E. church
Friday morning, she having been a
member of that denomination since
1895. The services were conducted
by Rev. Triem and the remains were
laid to rest in the cemetery at Maynard,
where the family lived before
removing here.
