Benjiman Vesper died at the home of his father, Dr. W.S. Vesper, on Monday, oct 22, after an illness of but a few days. Funeral services were held Tuesday after noon, conducted by Rev. Hack, interment being in the Elgin Cemetery.
Benjiman Vesper was the eighteen year old son of Dr. W.S. Vesper, he was born in Chickasaw County, Iowa, and moved to this county with his father and family a few years ago. He was a good and dutiful boy and was the only son which fact makes his death doubly hard for his parents to bear.
The boy's death was caused by the rupturing of an artery of the arm, the result of a horse jaming him against a hitching post.
Dr. Vesper wishes to express thanks to his neighbors and friends for their timely and generous assistance during the illness and after the death of his son, also to the doctors who did all for the boy that human skill and attention could do.
