Mrs. Mary Vesper died in Elgin, Iowa October 26, 1894, was buried in the Elgin cemetery October 28, 1894. Funeral services being held in the Union church, West Elgin, October 28, and were conducted by Rev. Hack.

Mrs. Vesper was born December 14, 1851, being 43 years, 10 months and 12 days old at the time of her death. She was blessed with four children, three of whom are living, the only son having died but a few days before her death.

Mrs. Vesper was a good and loving wife and mother, industrious, kind and patient under all circumstances, she was a christian lady of much worth and ability, a good neighbor and a true friend who held the respect and love of all her acquaintances.

The direct cause of her death was apoplexy the result of grief over the violent death of her only son Benjamen.

W.S. Vesper, her husband, wishes to say that language is inadequate to express his gratitude to the people of Elgin and the doctors in attendences for their help, kindness and sympathy extended to him and his family during the late trials they have passed through. May they be spared from a like experience.
