Caroline M. Hall was born June 30, 1847,
in Meadville, Pa. Her parents moved to
Wisconsin when she was 8 years old, and
to Iowa when she was 17 years of age.
There were three sisters and three brothers.
One brother and one sister are living,
a11 in Wisconsin, Clara Hall and Joseph M.
Hall, Grand Rapids, Wisconsin.
She was married to George Stark on April 10,
1865, the last year of the Civil War. He died
February 7, 1920. Since then she has been
living with her daughter Mrs. J. S. Fitzpatrick
in Chicago. She died the 13th day of December
and the body was brought to Oelwein for burial.
The funeral services were conducted from the
Presbyterian Church Tuesday afternoon, the Rev.
Korteling officiating. She was laid to rest in the
old cemetery. She is survived by one brother and
and one sister, her daughter Mrs. Fitzpatrick.
She was a resident of Oelwein for many years and
was well known here.
