Clara Arzilla Bennett, the ninth child of J. C. and
Dorothy Bennett, was born at Brandon, Iowa on
May 26th, 1885.
Owing to an affliction she attended the School for
the Deaf at Council Bluffs, Iowa.
She was married to Fred Baldwin of Epworth, Iowa
on January 4, 1918. They made their home at
Epworth. In 1924 they came to Oelwein where they
have lived ever since.
Mrs. Baldwin was in failing health during the past
two years. She passed peacefully away at the home
of her nephew, Lawrence King and family, 131 Sixth
Avenue NE on January 11, 1941, where loving hands
did everything possible for her.
Her husband, mother, father, two sisters and two
brothers preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing, Ella Maude King,
Hazleton, Ia.; Martha J. King, Oelwein, Ia.; Alice Vargason,
of Clermont; Harry O. Bennett, Oelwein and George R.
Bennett, Independence, Ia. Several nieces and
nephews, also great nieces and nephews and a host of
friends and neighbors who will miss her smile.
Funeral services were held at the Hintz Funeral home on
January 13, 1941, the Rev. F. ?. Witzignman, officiating.
Interment was made in Oakdale Cemetery.Oelwein Daily Register - 14 January 1941
