This community was startled Friday
morning by the rumor that Harve
Campbell had died the night before,
and the rumor was well founded.
He had worked all day Thursday for
Mr. Jason Nichols, but complained
some of not feeling very well. He
retired at the usual hour Thursday
night and when they went to call him
the next morning at breakfast time, no
response was given, and an investigation
revealed the fact that he was
dead. Some form of heart disease is
supposed to be the cause of death.
He had lived for a good many years
in the vicinity of Fairbank before
coming here, and had made this place
his home for quite a number of years
being generally respected. The funeral
services were held Sunday afternoon
in the Presbyterian church,
Rev. Clark officiating. He was a
member of the Masonic Lodge at
Fairbank and was buried under the
auspices of that Lodge assisted by
the Brethren here and a delegation
from the Hazleton Lodge, also by the
Eastern Star Lodge of this place of
which organization he was a member.
There was a large attendance at the
funeral. The remains were laid to
rest in the cemetery here. The deceased
was about 65 years of age.
