DIED.—At her home in this city, at
11:35 last night, after a lingering illness
of several mouths, Mrs. Fred
Brauhn, aged 77 years. The deceased
was born on September 24, 1815, at
Mecklenberg. Germany. On the 22nd
of September. 1842, she was married
to Mr. Fred Brauhn in RostocK, Germany.
Their union was blessed with
twelve children, six of whom are now
living four of them being with her as
her spirit took its flight to try the unknown
realities of the spirit world.
Mr. and Mrs. Brauhn emigrated to
America in 1850, settling in Chicago,
where they resided seven years, when
they moved to Dubuque, residing there
until 1860, when they moved to Memphis.
Tennessee. They remained there
three years when they again returned
to Dubuque where they resided until
last Mach when they came to Oelwein to
live. The funeral services will be held
at the Presbyterian church on Friday after-
noon. For almost fifty years herself and
aged husband had walked life's path
together, up to its zenith and well
down its western slope, and his head
is bowed with grief and heart well
nigh broken because the death angel
has come and robbed him of his aged
and loved companion.
