Minnie Harriet Bottleman was born at Strawberry Point, Iowa, June 13th, 1893. She died at her home in Oelwein, May 8th, 1924, aged 30 years, 10 months, 25 days. She was the daughter of William and Mary Bottleman.

On June 22, 1915, she was married to William F. Whitman, by F. G. Young at Lamont, Iowa, where she had grown to womanhood. She was of a loving disposition and made friends with all those about her and was always trying to do right and help where help was needed. Of the immediate family there remain the husband and one little son three years of age, father, mother and a twin sister, who with many friends and neighbors, together, mourn their loss.

Funeral services were conducted from the home Saturday by the Royal Neighbors, to the Christian Church where the sermon was preached by Rev. W. R. Foster, after which the Royal Neighbors again took charge and conducted the commital services at the grave. She was laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery.
