Services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 at First Baptist Church, Elgin, Iowa for Harry L. Johnson, age 83, of Elgin. Burial was in God's Acres Cemetery, Clermont, Iowa. Muehlethaler Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Harry died Monday, March 21, 1988 at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa following a lengthy illness. He was born January 8, 1905.

Survivors include his wife Kathryn; 2 daughters, Marjorie Hach of Solon, Iowa and Patricia Hoffman of Rochester, New York; 4 grandchiildren; a brother, Dr. Louis Johnson of White Rock, British Columbia, Canada; 3 sisters, Evelyn McMullen of Cresco, Iowa, Ella Mae Carragher of Issaquah, Washington, and Mildred Gossen of Elk Grove, California.
