Mrs. Hiram Hanson died at her
home in this city last Friday afternoon
at the age of nearly 63 years.
The funeral occurred at the M. E.
church Sunday afternoon, Elder
Thomas Blake, of Waterloo, officiating.
The services were very largely
attended, thus attesting to sympathy
and helpfulness on the part of old
time friends and neighbors. Nancy
A. Heckard was born in Homer Co.,
Ohio, on Dec. 15th, 1832. She was
married on April 3, 1865, to Hiram
Hanson, and for over thirty years
they traveled life's pathway together,
mid sunshine and storm. In early
life she became a Christian, uniting
with the regular or old school Baptists,
and continued steadfast in the
faith to the time of her death. She
had been an invalid for a good many
years. She leaves a husband and a
large family of children to morn her
loss. The remains were interred in
the Oelwein Cemetery.
