Caroline Tesch was born in Sieden
Ballentine, in the Province of Pommorn,
Germany, October 29, 1854, and
died in Oelwein May 8, 1912. She was
baptized in infancy and was duly instructed
in the word of God and later
confirmed in the State church of
Prussia. November 24, 1874 she was
united in marriage to Carl August
Voelschow with whom she came to
America in the year 1881, making
their first home in Delaware Center,
Iowa. Afterward they moved to Arington,
and then on a farm east of
Maynard. From there they came to
Oelwein a little over a year ago. Of
twelve children born to this union
eleven are living, one having died in
in infancy.
For the past two years she had suffered
from heart trouble and a week
prior to her demise her condition became
serious, and in spite of all that
human skill and loving care could
accomplish she passed away Wednesday
morning, May 8. Her age was
57 years, six months and nine days.
The last services were held from
the home on First Ave. E. Saturday
conducted by Rev. Zimmermann, and
all that was mortal of this Christian
wife and mother was laid at rest in
the silent city of the dead. The bereaved
family have the sympathy of
friends in the loss they have sustained.
