AURORA (Special) — Henry
James, 90, died at his home near
Aurora at 6 o'clock this morning.
He was born June 4, 1855 in Rockford,
Illinois and would have been
91 his next birthday.
He came to Aurora when he was
18 years old and entered into a
farming partnership with his brother,
Phineas. They farmed together
for 14 years.
On Feb. 9, 1887 he was married
to Miss Mary Thompson of Arlington
and they moved northwest
of town where he farmed for 59
years until two years ago.
His wife preceded him in death
in 1936. He is survived by six
children, Mrs. Inez Jellings, Long
Beach, Calif.; Mrs. Kelsey Fry,
Oelwein; Mrs. Hilton Smith, Aurora;
three sons, Darrill, Stanley;
Thai, Hazleton; and Algie, Cedar
Rapids; twelve grandchildren and
six great grandchildren.
The body will lie in state at
the Hintz Funeral Home until the
services on Sunday afternoon at
3 o'clock. Dr. L. W. Hauter will officiate
at the services and burial
will be at the Union cemetery east
of Oelwein.
