Fred Ridler 1858 - 1933

Oelwein, IA --- Fred Ridler, 75, died Tuesday
evening at his residence, 102 Second Avenue
Northwest, after three weeks illness. He had
suffered a second stroke of apoplexy.

The funeral will be Friday, with services at
2:30 pm at the Presbyterian church here with
Rev. L. W. Hauter, pastor, officiating. Burial was
in Woodlawn cemetery.

Mr. Ridler was born in East Penbroke, NY, the
son of William and Mary Ridler. He married Alice
Ross in December 1882. Their three children
died in infancy and Mrs. Ridler on Feb. 27, 1927.
His second marriage on Oct. 2, 1929, was to
Bertha Heath, who survives.

He also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Jennie
Knight, Tulsa, Okla. and Mrs. Josephine Kenniston
Oelwein.

Mr. Ridler in early life was a farmer, formerly
owning and operating the place now known as the
Tom Baker farm. He had been retired many
years. His fraternal affiliations were with the
Knights of Pythias and Masonic groups.
