Jasper S. Woodward, oldest son
of John and Elizabeth Woodward
was born in the state of Pennsylvania
in the year 1862 and passed
away at his home in Oelwein
Iowa, on Tuesday, August 29th,
1939.
On July 5th, 1882 he was
united in marriage to Sarah L
Clark at West Union, Iowa. To
this union there were born two
children, Mrs. Mae Vargason and
J. A. Woodward both of this city,
who survive him. He is also survived
by one brother, John Woodward
of Oelwein, and by two sisters,
Mrs. Margaret Stoner of
Oelwein and Mrs. Nellie Powers
of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and also by
ten grandchildren and fourteen
great-grandchildren. His wife
preceded him in death on October
6th, 1938.
Mr. Woodward most of
his life in and near Oelwein with
the exception of about ten years
spent in Cedar Rapids and Wyoming
Iowa.
He was a kind husband and
father, and will be greatly missed
by his family and friends.
Funeral services were held
from the Hintz funeral home on
Thursday, August 31 at 2;3» p. m.,
the Rev. F. C. Witzigman officiating.
Interment was made in the
family lot in Woodlawn cemetery.
