The death of Mrs. Parker Perry occurred at the home
in this city Thursday evening, May 22nd, at about
9:20 o'clock. The immediate cause of her death was
heart trouble.

Ella Gertrude Kappes was born in Lena, Illinois, in
1873 and was 29 years of age at the time of her death.
She graduated from the Leon(?) High School in 1889,
and in 1890 was united in marriage to Parker Perry.
Some years ago they came to Oelwein where they have
since continued to reside. Mrs. Perry was the mother
of five children, four of whom with the husband
survive her. The funeral services were held at the
home Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the
Rev. J. T. Shreve. Music provided by the Christian
church choir. The pall bearers were Messrs. Will Pitt,
G. A. Paley, A. C. Wilson, A. G. Kraft, Henry Smith and
P. L. Gillian. Interment was in the Oelwein cemetery.
