Last night Frank A. Cragin died
in his rooms on South Frederick
avenue, following an extended illness
Mr. Cragin has been a resident
of Oelwein for many years
and has always been an outstanding
citizen. Although 71 years of
age he still retained an active interest-
in civic affairs. His one
great delight in life was his Masonic
lodge and work in the organization.
Probably at no time in his life did he
enjoy himself more than giving the
lecture in the degrees. Mr. Cragin for a
long number of years has conducted a pop
corn stand at the corn of Frederick avenue
and Charles street but for the past few
months he has been unable to attend to this.
His death came peacefully last night about
eight o'clock, he having just moved to the
rooms over the Moyle grocery and Mrs. Hanson,
trained nurse, had been secured to take
care of him during his last days. He enjoyed
visiting with old friends, and was an
exceptionally entertaining story teller. The
funeral will be held at two o'clock,
tomorrow, Thursday afternoon, at the Hintz
funeral home, and the burial will be
in Oakdale cemetery.
