WADENA — Terry L. Lamphier, 54, of Wadena, 1A, died at his
home Monday, May 5, 2003, following a long illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 8, at
lllyria Community Church, rural Elgin. Burial with
military rites will follow in Wadena City
Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 until 7 p.m. Wednesday
(today) at the Leonard Funeral Home, Elgin and
from 9:30 a.m. until service time at the church on
Thursday.
He was born Oct. 31, 1948, in Oelwein, to
Donald Oscar and Artis Mae (Stempfle) Lamphier.
He was drafted into the Army on Feb. 11, 1969, serving during the
Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1971. On Jan. 28,
1978, Terry married Tami Duckett in Fayette. He worked at Gulf
States Plastic in Oehvein for 22 years, as a forklift operator, then
superintendent. He also owned and operated T & T Saloon in Wadena
until 1995.
Survivors include his wife Tami of Wadena; three children, Travis
and Terra of Wadena, Tonya (Brandon) Osterhus of Guttenberg; one
grandchild; his parents, Don and Artis Lamphier of Oelwein; two
brothers, Mark (Debbie) of Oelwein and Kevin (Katrina) of Houston,
Texas: and three sisters, Nancy Naslund of Eden Prairie, Minn., Vicki
(Don) Van Englandberg of Champaign. 111. and Glenda Brown of
Fairbank.
His paternal and maternal grandparents and two brothers-in-law,
Tom Brown and Corey Naslund, preceded him in death.
