Mrs. John P. (Nettie) Smith died at her home, 110 4th St.,
N. W. at 10:20 Tuesday night after a long illness.
The Rev. E. J. O'Hagan will conduct services Saturday at
9 am at Sacred Heart Church and burial will be in
Woodlawn. After Thursday noon, friends may call at
the home where the rosary will be said at 7:30 Friday.
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Borland, Mrs. Smith was
born at Fayette December 5, 1875 and married at
Westgate March 1, 1897. She had lived in Oelwein 40
years. Surviving are her husband; a son Dr. W. Arthur
Smith of Bakersfield, California; three daughters, Mrs.
Edith Stevens of Boston, Mass., Mrs. Lucille Wood and
Leanore Leaven of Oelwein; eight grandchildren; five
sisters and two brothers.
Hintz Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
